New Journaling Cards Coming Soon...

I must confess, I have a slight problem. My husband plays hockey on Thursday nights. The games are pretty late (he's in the "hang loose" league and they get the last time slots of the night) and we can't go watch him because the kids are all tucked in to bed before he even leaves. Anyway... after he heads out, instead of being a good girl and getting some sleep I often find myself sitting here at this computer creating journaling cards. I start getting new ideas and next thing I know it's REALLY late and I have created a handful of new styles. The problem is I create them and then it takes me forever to print, cut, photograph, package, and list them. So be prepared cause the other day I went through the computer and started printing! I thought I'd give ya a peek at a few of the new ones coming to my online shop
When I was going through the computer I ran across a couple of sets I had designed for a friend as a Christmas gift. I love how they turned out, so I'm going to list them too!

Here's a closer look at the 100% Boy Journaling Card set. There are also 100% Girl, Travel, Vintage Girls, Dates, Icons, and He Said She Said sets coming, to name a few. (I told you I have a problem...)

I also have some new chipboard blossoms coming. These ones are big with layers of fabric, tulle, and felt. So cute! I'll be showing the project I made for Jenn's Design Team tomorrow, her shop is sooo cute!!! See you then!

Oh and by the way, anyone do the Christmas Photo Challenge?

Fun Craft Storage Ideas... and Giveaway!

Happy Saturday! I just love Saturday mornings, don't you? Especially when the sun is shining so beautifully like it is today. Crazy spring like weather here in Montana right now- I'm lovin it! I'm trying to get my craft room in order, and let me tell you it's really bad right now. I must confess I am an extremely messy crafter, and this place needs some major organization and purging. So I thought I'd share a few of my new organization goodies I'm working on using.

I got two drawers like this at an antique mall for super cheap. I'm so excited cause they are going to make the cutest embellishment storage, and just look at those cute old knobs. I don't know about you, but I need my "stuff" out in the open where I can see it or I tend not to use it. I also need my space to be inspiring to look at too. I'm trying to decide whether to paint these a pale aqua or cream. Maybe I'll do one of each!

I also bought these inexpensive canister jars at Walmart (around $6) to store my flowers in. I used to have them sorted by color into smaller jars, but the little jars were starting to take up too much room that way. So now they all fit together and take up less space. Besides I think the big clear jars are so cute and could be decorated so sweetly with rub-ons!

DON'T FORGET... I'm having a sale in my etsy shop through tomorrow along with a giveaway! All you have to do is leave a comment here to be entered. Remember you can come back daily to enter. I'm giving away a set of my new Mini Journaling Cards and Swanky Chipboard Blossoms. (see previous post for more detailed pictures)

Love Sign

I know Valentines Day is over, but I had so many things I wanted to make and with the Christmas Photo Challenge I just couldn't get them all done before the 14th. No big deal though, cause I decided I would work on some of them this week. I left my handy storage tub that holds all our Valentine decorations out so when I'm done I can pack them all away for next year. When I get it out next year it will be filled with new decorations! Fun! (see how good I am at making myself feel better about it! :))

This Love sign is one of the new goodies I've made.

It was so super simple to make, I thought I'd share it with you. I just stitched cute polka dot fabric to some chipboard I cut to form the base. Then I added some journal paper, the circle letters which I crumpled and inked, and then stitched it all onto the sign. I added the vintage pink fringe, a white silk flower that I inked, and a fluffy tulle hanger.

Quick, easy, and cute! My hubby looked at it and said "that's nice, but it's very fluffy." (think he meant really girlie) I just smiled and said it's a "fluffy" holiday. Hope all of you had a great Valentines Day...and before you pack up those decorations, make a few more to add to your stack next year!

Be sure to stop by my shop today, lots of new goodies going in this week!

Sale Coming...

Yep it's that time again! Time to clear out some of my shop goodies to make room for new ones. I'm going to be running a sale on my holiday goodies along with some albums and other things. The sale will start Wednesday and I'll be doing a little giveaway on the blog during the sale as well. Mark your calendars and I'll "see" you there!

Spring is in the air!

I've been feeling very springy all of a sudden. Maybe it's because we've had some nice sunny days here lately, (not that common for Montana in February) or maybe it's just wishful thinking, (I mean really, we've had snow storms in June...) but what ever the case is I've been making some spring inspired goodies for my etsy shop. I thought I'd share a few of my new goodies today. Watch for them this week! :)

I have several styles of scalloped circle and scalloped square mini journaling cards to add to the shop including the "Life is Sweet" set shown here!

These "Birthday Girl" journaling cards also come in "Birthday Boy" and I have another nature inspired "list" set coming to the shop soon too.

I've got some new blossoms in the works too and I'm finally going to get my Shabby Velvet and Fabric Blossoms in the shop too! :) Too many ideas and not enough time! Be sure to stop by the shop and take advantage of the February Special!! (see previous post for details)

Valentine Gifts

Happy Friday!!! Whooo where has this week gone? Do you ever have weeks like that? Monday comes then you blink and oh, it's Friday already? I tell you what, I feel like have been running all week! I haven't even posted any thing since Monday.... ugh! :) I've been trying like crazy to get my Valentines Day gifts done amongst all the other goings on, so I thought I share some of them with you!

Here are some cute little tea towels I decorated up. I used some vintage Valentine images, turned them into fabric transfers, and stitched on some fun polka dot ribbon. (you can find this ribbon in my shop if you like me and just have to have anything polka dot!)
I put 2 towels in each set and tied them together with more of that lovely ribbon.
I'm so excited to give these out! :) I hope they like them!

How is the Christmas photo challenge coming? I'd love to hear about your progress so leave a comment! (see previous post for details)

Another Christmas Challenge Layout

I'm just a plugging away at the Christmas Photo Challenge, how about you? (see previous post for details)

This layout is all about another one of our family traditions. It's a pretty simple thing, but my husband started it when we were first dating so it has a special place in my heart! Awwww, shucks, got all sappy on ya didn't I! :)
For our 1st Christmas when we were dating, my hubby gave me a little reindeer ornament that had a hear pendant around his neck that said cupid. I thought it was so sweet that he thought about getting me a Christmas ornament. Then the next year he got me another ornament (Goofy all tangled up in Christmas lights-I'm kind of a BIG klutz, so it was really funny). Then I joined in and we started getting each other ornaments each year. As we had children they became part of the tradition too. I love that when they are grown, each of them will have a wonderful box of ornaments and memories to take with them!

I used some Shabby Felt Birds from my shop and one of the journaling cards from the Retro Christmas Glittered card set.

I added a little stitching to the page too. I used a zig zag stitch and sewed my chipboard title to the page. I also added a super cute pom pom trim that my pal Jenn gave me. Thanks Jenn I love it!

Show me your challenge progress! Leave a comment or a link to your projects! Don't for get to stop by my etsy shop and take advantage of the February special! Lots of new journaling cards in the shop!

Valentine Mailboxes

How is everyone today? This is one busy weekend for us! So much to do! I'm hoping to get a little more scrapping in amongst the chaos cause I have to get some more Valentine goodies made!

For a while I think my hubby thought I was a little nutty, starting all these crazy traditions right after my first son Parker was born. I know he was too little to remember when they started, but now they have become such a part of our family we look forward to each and every one. I loved our family traditions growing up, and it's just so important to me that my kids have those wonderful memories too. So now I'm always coming up with new fun traditions that we can share!

Today is the 1st day of our Valentine mailbox deliveries. I had the mail boxes all set out and ready to go for the kids when the got up this morning. We love this tradition! Every day for the next week (until the 14th) each of my children and my hubby will find a little goodie in their mailbox. So I thought I'd share the little goodie bags they got today!

If you'd like to start this little tradition for someone you love, I still have a couple of mailboxes for sale in the shop. Lots of other fun Valentine goodies there too, so check it out!

Another Christmas Challenge Layout

Have you all been working on the Christmas Photo Challenge?? (see previous post for details) I've been chipping away at my stack, so I thought I'd share a layout I did.

These aren't the most traditional Christmas colors, but my daughter is all about pink, even on her Christmas tree! :)
This layout came together in a snap because I used this fab little K & Co paper pack that included die cuts and tags. I fell in love with it's retro style instantly! (I know go figure)
I love to layer embellishments, so for this layout I layered die cut flowers, with snowflakes (I uses pop dots to make them dimensional), silver plaques, hat pins, and ribbon. I even layered my rub-ons.
To finish it off I added a couple of haphazard rows of stitching and a little rub-on crown for my daughters head. It was a really fun layout to do!

I'd love to see/hear about your progress, so send me a link or leave a comment here! Remember all of you who participate will get some free goodies from my shop. Speaking of which, be sure to stop by there today and take advantage of the February special! Lots of new goodies in including some vintage Valentines and new journaling cards.

Since Valentines Day is just around the corner, I wanted to give us all a boost of creativity in the card making area. So today I thought I'd share a cute card made by the super sweet and mega talented Pamela Young. Miss Pamela is such a creative scrapper, you have to go check out her blog and see all the fun stuff she does!

She used one of my Sparkled Doily Blossoms from the shop; I just love seeing what creative things you gals do with my embellishments! Be sure to stop by the shop today and take advantage of the February Special (see previous post for details) or snag up some Valentine goodies before it's too late! :)

Vintage Valentine Creation

This is a cute wall hanging I made for our house the other day. It was so quick and fun to do! I had just been dying to use this cute red striped fabric I bought so this is what I came up with.

I dyed a white silk carnation with coffee to give it an aged look and added it to one corner of the sign. I used really large red rick rack as a hanger and tied pink and white striped fabric strips and sparkly red tulle to it after I stitched it onto the sign.

I layered vintage dotted Swiss fabric, floral print patterned scrapbook paper, and a vintage Valentine image and stitched them to the sign. I added some fun trims, vintage appliques, and wooden bingo markers.

I made the base of the sign out of chipboard. Then I cut, tore, and frayed the fabric so it would cover the chipboard with some "hanging over" the edges.

Then I stitched the 2 together with some haphazard layers of stitching and added the embellishments!

I love how it turned out, and now I have several more I want to make! Valentines Day is sneaking up so quickly! I have several gifts I need to get working on too! I share them as I finish them.

Don't for get about the February Special in my shop. (see previous post for details) Be sure to head on over there today, I've added some new goodies!

Show and Tell

I know, I'm obsessed with vintage ephemera but I just can't help it! I mean the graphics, the colors, the detail... sigh, so lovely! Seriously, in 60-70 years, what is going to be so great about our Hannah Montana or Power Ranger Valentines? Not much I tell you! :)

So I thought I'd share a some wonderful illustrations from a 1940's early reader book I bought at a thrift shop.

I love the idea of taking books like this one and making them into artwork. Taking something that would normally get tossed away and giving it a new place it so great! What cute signs and decor these illustrations would make for a child's bedroom or playroom.

My favorite part about this particular book is that it's a teacher's addition, so the teacher, Ms. Larson according to the note on the back, has made all kinds of notes in the book. She let her students leave her little notes as well. It's really fun to read them, see how she taught, what they were learning, how the children "spoke" etc. I love history, even these tiny overlooked pieces of it!:)

Be sure and check my shop today, I'll be adding more of the Shiny Buttons including some vintage sheet music patterns, and there might be some more Valentines goodies too! :)

I'm sooo happy...

Yes, I must say that I am so happy that when I found these marvelous vintage Valentines at an antique store that I bought all they had. At first I picked out a few of my favorites, but when I started to walk away I thought better just get all of them, who knows when you'll find more. I have so many projects in mind for these little beauties. Some of them may even pop up in my etsy shop because I have enough to share! :)

Just imagine all the possibilities: scrapbook page embellishments, wall hangings and all sorts of Valentines day decor, make them into tags for Valentines gifts, or just the way they are as an extra special Valentine. I can hardly wait to get crafting with them!

Wow! Are any of the rest of you having a hard time staying on track with the Christmas photo challenge? I have to fight to keep from getting distracted by Valentines day goodies! :) (see previous post for info on the challenge) I'd love to see what you've done so far or hear about your progress, so leave a comment here! I'll be sharing more of mine this week.
