Thank you...

I made this card for one of my husband's aunts, so I thought I'd share it with you. No matter what is going on, they always remember our children's birthdays and send out gifts. It is so nice of them to think of the kids, this year I wanted to send special "thank yous" out. Sooo... handmade cards here we come! I'm still trying to keep up with my goal of making a couple of cards every week. That way when things like this come along, I have a special card already to go!
I just love those Jenni Bowlin bingo cards. You don't even have to use the whole card, just a piece of one (like I did here) adds so much. I just used my fingers to rough up and tear the edges of the paper before I inked it. I inked the white flowers as well to tone them down a bit.
I used a Sparkled Felt Blossom from my shop. Go here to get a better look. Notice there is a button missing from one of the white flowers. I had a wonderful assistant while taking these photos, my 2 year old son Connor couldn't resist that one particular button. But don't worry, I stuck it back on so now I can mail it out. :)

Making cards is also great way to jump-start your creativity, so get scrapping! I'll be adding more goodies to the shop again today. Be sure to stop in and check them out!

because today I have a layout from the fabulous Miss Jenn! I just love her style- her layouts are always so colorful too!

I love the rick rac and all those layers! She used one of the Green Label Journaling cards from my shop. Go here to get some for yourself!

I've got some new stuff I'm hoping to get in the shop today. I've been working on a couple of special orders that I plan to finish up today too, so I hope I get it all done! I did a little scrapbooking as well, so I have a couple of layouts and a card to share too. Have a great day everyone!

I LUV 6-up page protectors...

I don't think I've shared this new scrapbooking love with you yet... the 6-up page protector will become your new best friend.(if it isn't already) I have been using these a lot lately. I really love taking pictures. It's a hobby/obsession of mine. The problem is that I can't scrapbook them all. Now don't get me wrong, I weed out the bad/extra photos, but even then I really don't want 2-3 layouts of each photo session! :) SO... I use these page protectors. That way my favorite photos still make it into our albums, but I don't have to make layouts for all of them.

Here is an example of what I mean: I did 1 2 page layout and added a 6-up protector in between the pages. I kept these layouts simple so the whole thing was really quick.

Page 1:

Page 2:

...and here is the page protector: the front

the back:
Now you can get as simple or fancy as you want with these. You can fill all 12 spots with photos, use some spots for journaling, or scrapbook couple of the spaces. If you want it to be really quick just fill em with your photos and put it in between or following your layout. So simple, cute, and gives you the extra photo space with little effort. You could also use these to make an entire album and simplify the whole process. The possibilities are endless. They come in a variety of layouts and photo sizes too.

I'm adding more new goodies to the shop this week. Go here to check them out! Have a great day!

Lucky Me

I know Mother's Day has come and gone, but I wanted to share a few pictures with you.

This is the cutest apron in the world! My super talented Mama made this for me for Mother's Day and I just had to share it with you scrappers! She said she saw the fabric and said "That looks like scrapbook supplies!" and just had to buy it to make me something. Since I have this crazy obsession with aprons, she made me this darling little 1/2 apron. I know you can't see it very well, but it's very retro housewife with a cute ruffle and little pocket. I just love it! I keep telling my Mom she should open her own Etsy shop and sell aprons, blankets, etc. Did I ever show you the pink and brown polka dot apron she made me to were at craft fairs? Oh, it's so cute and matches my logo colors etc. Thanks so much Mom! I love it!

My son Parker picked this bouquet for me and said, "Mom!!! Here's your Mother's Day present!" with the biggest grin on his face. I just had to take a picture of it. I know one day there will be no more dandelion bouquets, no more special rocks or sticks given as gifts, and I wanted to capture a memory of this stage. I felt like the luckiest mommy in the world when he gave them to me, and I want him to know it!
I'm sure you'll be seeing a scrapbook page with this photo on it in the near future! Don't forget to photograph these little moments. They really are the things that make our lives so special. The little everyday things, routines, and moments that make up a life and tell so much about who we are. It's so easy to focus our scrapbooks on major events and holidays, but be sure to scrapbook these things too! Make it a goal to showcase at least one everyday part of your life each month!

Lots of new goodies have been going in my shop this week. Go here to check them all out. Don't for get to take advantage of the May Special too! Have a great day!

Goodies Galore

I started listing my new goodies yesterday. I have lots more to list so be sure to check my shop out this week. Here's a little shot of some of the new Blossoms going in.
I just love the hand painted and glittered brad centers! I put a coat of glaze over the top to seal and protect them too.

I've really got to get birthday planning this week. I'm so far behind! We had 2 birthday's while we were staying with my in-laws, and I haven't done anything for the kids parties. I love to throw birthday parties, so these things are usually a bit over the top and lots of fun for me to plan.... but after being gone 2 1/2 weeks and losing my father-in-law, yikes I just can't seem to get it together! I think were going to have to do smaller mostly family parties this year, especially since my oldest turns 6 in about 3 weeks (my youngest just turned 2 and my daughter is now 4, sigh I can't believe how fast they are growing up!). As you can tell, spring is birthday season in our household. I think maybe we should've tried planning the pregnancies... having 3 birthdays with in 1 month... crazy! :)...but then again, who am I to question the master plan! :) Ok, I better get cracking on those invitations!

Don't forget about the May Special on Mini Journaling Cards! Go here to check them out! Have a great day!

The last layout...

for my "April" Guest Designer, Jami Rodolph. Jami is such an amazing scrapbooker, and so creative! Thanks so much for sharing your ideas with us Jami!

Look at this adorable layout! I love all the funky colors! She used sand paper to create borders around her photos, you just have to try it as an alternative to traditional photo mats! You could also use paint or ink for the same effect with a different twist.
Jami used the Name Tag Label Journaling Cards from my shop. Go here to see them. I'll be adding some more colors soon.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. Mine was very nice. My Mom and I went shopping at a few craft stores, without any children :), and out to lunch. Then I took the kids in and went to my son's 1st soccer game. It was so darn cute! Afterward, we went out to dinner with my family. It was a fun day, and my wish for sunshine even came true. The only bummer was my poor hubby came down with the stomach flu and was home in bed all day. :( What men won't do to get out of doing the dishes. hahahah :)

I've got so many new goodies to add to my shop, so keep checking back! ....oh and don't for get to take advantage of the May Special: buy 3 Mini Journaling Cards and get 1 free (see shop for details). Have a great day!

Get Sketching!

So here is a new sketch today and a layout to go with it. I'm trying to keep up with my goal to stay caught up on my scrapbooks for 2009. I love being able to journal when it's fresh in my memory. This is a layout I did of my surprise b-day party my kids and mom threw for me. (...remember I told the whole mushy story back in January... sigh, it still brings a happy tear to my eye :))

Here's the sketch I did...

...and here's the layout.

I used lots of stitching, reds, aquas, and vintagey goodies, some of my favorites.

I wanted to include the handmade birthday cards my children made, but there wasn't a lot of room for them (they were kinda large). So I cut a slit in my layered papers and made a pocket be hind the mat of the large photo. I also made one of the small photos a pocket and slipped a tag with my journaling into it. Great space savers when you have ephemera, souvenirs, cards, etc that you'd like to include on your layouts. Almost anything can become a pocket!

More new goodies going in today. Be sure to stop by my shop and check them out! Have a great day!

Card Fun

Happy Thursday everyone! Yeah! That means Friday is almost here! I'm really looking forward to the weekend. It will be the 1st weekend we've had at home for a while, my son has his very first soccer game, and it's Mother's Day weekend. Now if we could only get a little sunshine here...

I'm sharing another card today. I love using greens and browns together, it's such a fresh cheerful color combo.

I used one of my artisan labels from the shop and stamped my sentiment on it. They are so versatile, I just love them. I have new color combos coming to the shop soon too. I also used a cute new Mini Journaling Card from the Tooty Fruity set. I don't have them listed in the shop yet, but I thought they were so cute I just couldn't resit using them. Wouldn't they be cute with glitter sprinkled on the fruit too?!

I'll be working on some Mother's Day Cards and projects today, so I'll share those with you later! :)

New Blossoms Coming Soon...

I have some fun new flowers coming to the shop soon. I've got some really shabby foofy tulle posies I've been making as well as some new felt blossoms and adorable crepe paper blooms. Here's a little peak at the Lil Felty Blossoms.

They will come 6 to a package in coordinating colors and in 3 sizes. Each blossom has a brad center that I hand painted, doodled, and coated with glaze. They are so cute and really easy to use on all your scrapbook/paper crafting projects. I'll let you know when I get them listed in the shop! :) Have a great day!

I'm Back....

with just a quick post today, I'm still trying to play catch up from the 2 1/2 weeks we've been gone. I thought I'd share another layout from Jami, my April Guest Designer. I know it's actually May now, but I had no idea I was going to miss the last half of April so I still have a few adorable layouts of Jami's to share.

Just look at that cute puppy... I see more pet layouts in your future Jami! (wink wink) She used the Classic Hip Journaling Cards from my shop. Go here to check the entire set out. Ok, back to laundry and housework! Have a great day!
