They have a whitewashed chevron pattern, which is everywhere right now. The bright colors would be perfect for your summer photos!

Here's the skinny...

It's been a long time since I posted anything here or in my shop. I have finally realized I love creating and designing, but I do not like running a shop and trying to sell things. So from now on, I'll be using this blog to post free digital/printable scrapbook supplies I design. So now I can design scrapbooking supplies and share them with you too! I have been trying to get our vacation pictures scrapbooked and recently created some beachy themed journaling cards to go with them. The cards are 3x4 or 4x3 so they are perfect for project life or pocket scrapbooking too! Once you download the file you can use them for your digital projects and pages or print them out for paper projects. Click HERE to download. These files are for personal use only, and remain the property of Pink Owl Paperie! Thanks so much and happy scrapbooking! I hope you have fun using this set! I'll be back with some more freebies soon. Have a great day!

Shop Preview!

So I mentioned I'm going to be reopening my Etsy shop, Pink Owl Paperie, sometime soon and I thought I'd share a little preview of the goods I've been working on for it. The shop is going to be full of digital and printable scrapbook supplies.

I'm not sure exactly when I will reopen, but I'll keep you posted. For now I'm busy working on new journaling packs, converting some of my paper journaling cards to digital files, and finding a good method for the downloads. So... for now here's a little freebie. Just right click on the image below to save it then add it to your digital scrapbook pages or print it out and use it for all kinds of projects!

Have a great day!!

Making new stuff...

Even though my Etsy Shop is closed for the summer, I can't help but spend some of my evenings designing new goodies for the reopening this fall....and since fall means back to school I've been working on some new school scrapbook goodies. Here's a little sample from a new set of journaling cards I've been working on.

I'm also hoping that working on school stuff will help me to get caught up on last years unscrapped school photos before fall comes around again! ;) What crafty things have you been working on? Sometimes it's so hard for me to stay crafty during the summer, there is always so much to do outside! We've been spending most of our days playing in the lake in our backyard. We will really miss it when we move, but for now were soaking it up! Have a wonderful day!

Back from Vacation

Hey there! Well I'm back from a terrific vacation. I love the ocean, and well lets face it, you don't see a whole lot of it when you live in Montana. :) So our trip to the Oregon coast was a real treat for my family. We stayed right on the beach in a big house with my husbands family. We played in the sand, saw a ton of sea lions (which are about as plentiful as deer are around here), explored tidal pools, sand boarded (like snow boarding only on sand), went crabbing and dug for clams, laughed a lot, stayed up way to late, and cooked massive amounts of seafood. It was wonderful, and I wish I it lasted longer. Anyway... onto a fun layout Miss Jami made using some of my journaling spots from my shop.
I just love the colors, stitching details, and smudgy brown paint. She used journaling cards from the 100% Travel set, the Butterfly List set, and the Out West set. Go here to get some for yourself!
Look how she distressed a border around the edge of her photos, so cute! Thanks Jami!!

I'll be in and out this week trying to get everything back in place from our trip, answering emails, and mailing out orders. Have a great day!

Another Sneak Peek...

Today I'm sharing some of my new girlie journaling cards. I'm hoping to get them listed in my shop this week. I also have some sample projects to show you using them later this week too. They are just perfect for the princess in your life. :)

Princess Mini Journaling Cards:

Silhouette Journaling Card Set:
I just love the little bracket tabs too. I decided to start making more sets that have a variety of shapes, makes em' extra fun for layering! ...and you know how I love to layer on my pages...

Speaking of layering... here's a little side note. I guess this love of layering is some how genetic. I have apparently passed it on to my 5 year old son. It has taken quite a different form though. (one that causes me to have massive quantities of laundry) All of a sudden Parker has started wearing SO MANY layers of clothing! My goodness! Every time we go somewhere my friends always wind up calling with this puzzled tone in their voices, "Ummm I found some of Parker's clothes in so and so's room. 1 pair of pants, 2 shirts, some socks, and a jacket." It always sounds like they are trying to figure out how he left in the buff without their noticing. Some days I have no clue how many layers he has on until it's bedtime. I suppose I could put my foot down and say no more, but it's so him. Just one more crazy little quirk that makes him my son! I should really do a scrapbook page on all his little quirks! :)

A New Sketch!

It's been a while since I posted a sketch, so here is one I did recently:

....and here is the layout I made with it...

I fell in love with these papers the moment I saw them, Colorbok's Friendly Forest line. Love it! I was glad to finally put them to use! I added some chipboard stars, twine, buttons, and doodling to the layout. I decided to use the orange frame for a pop of color and to highlight my kids sweet faces.

The cute bracket is a new journaling card I made for my shop. I haven't listed them yet, but I couldn't wait to use them. They are big, fun, and perfect for layering too! I'll be listing them soon... you can contact me in the shop if you'd like some in the mean time.
I don't know about you, but I love graph and ledger type papers. I love anything that resembles and office supply for scrapbooking. They are marvelous and just go with everything. I guess you could say they are my crafty version of the "little black dress," when in doubt they always work!:)

Have a fabulous Monday! Be sure and stop by the shop this week, I'll be adding lots of new goodies! Go here to check them out!

New Journaling Cards Sneak Peek...

Here's a little peek at some of the new journaling cards I've been working on. I've made it a goal to get all the ones I've made in the last month listed by April. So check my etsy shop often!

SCHOOL DAYS:
This is a really fun and colorful set for school pages (actually, they are general enough you could use them for just about anything...)

HAPPENINGS:
I love this set! You can't really tell from the photo, but the ones with the straight edged are actually polka dotted. I love the fun images as well, especially the crown.

I'm off to do a bit of spring cleaning and then I hope to work on some crafty spring projects for the house. TTFN!

New Journaling Cards Coming Soon...

I must confess, I have a slight problem. My husband plays hockey on Thursday nights. The games are pretty late (he's in the "hang loose" league and they get the last time slots of the night) and we can't go watch him because the kids are all tucked in to bed before he even leaves. Anyway... after he heads out, instead of being a good girl and getting some sleep I often find myself sitting here at this computer creating journaling cards. I start getting new ideas and next thing I know it's REALLY late and I have created a handful of new styles. The problem is I create them and then it takes me forever to print, cut, photograph, package, and list them. So be prepared cause the other day I went through the computer and started printing! I thought I'd give ya a peek at a few of the new ones coming to my online shop
When I was going through the computer I ran across a couple of sets I had designed for a friend as a Christmas gift. I love how they turned out, so I'm going to list them too!

Here's a closer look at the 100% Boy Journaling Card set. There are also 100% Girl, Travel, Vintage Girls, Dates, Icons, and He Said She Said sets coming, to name a few. (I told you I have a problem...)

I also have some new chipboard blossoms coming. These ones are big with layers of fabric, tulle, and felt. So cute! I'll be showing the project I made for Jenn's Design Team tomorrow, her shop is sooo cute!!! See you then!

Oh and by the way, anyone do the Christmas Photo Challenge?

Spring is in the air!

I've been feeling very springy all of a sudden. Maybe it's because we've had some nice sunny days here lately, (not that common for Montana in February) or maybe it's just wishful thinking, (I mean really, we've had snow storms in June...) but what ever the case is I've been making some spring inspired goodies for my etsy shop. I thought I'd share a few of my new goodies today. Watch for them this week! :)

I have several styles of scalloped circle and scalloped square mini journaling cards to add to the shop including the "Life is Sweet" set shown here!

These "Birthday Girl" journaling cards also come in "Birthday Boy" and I have another nature inspired "list" set coming to the shop soon too.

I've got some new blossoms in the works too and I'm finally going to get my Shabby Velvet and Fabric Blossoms in the shop too! :) Too many ideas and not enough time! Be sure to stop by the shop and take advantage of the February Special!! (see previous post for details)

A Christmas Challenge Layout

I don't know about you, but I take a lot of photos- especially during the holidays. I thought I'd share what I like to do when I don't want 5 layouts of the same "event" but I want to make sure the photos are scrapbooked. I simply make a pocket layout. I turned the second page of this 2 pg. spread into a pocket by putting adhesive on only three edges of my paper. I also love to sew around the edges, but I had loaned my machine out to a friend when I did this page. Then I all had to do was tuck the extra photos behind the pocket!

Every year my family and I go Christmas tree hunting on Thanksgiving morning. It is one of our favorite family traditions. Be sure to scrapbook your family traditions, even if they are things you wouldn't normally photograph! Your family will thank you so much for it later!!

I love to use gathered or ruffled ribbon on my projects. This super cute red polka dot ribbon is lightly wired, so it made it so easy to fold into gathers! I just accordion folded it and then glued it to my page. I also used one of the "Vintage Journaling Cards" from the set in my shop and added a little button border. (PS. the polka dot ribbon will be in the shop soon too if ya want to get ya some!)
More ribbon ruffles and a super cute journaling spot from Jenn at My Creative Mess. She is super talented to be sure to check her out!
I also used the "Macintosh Apple Felt Photo Corners" from the shop on this layout. I love how they add texture, detail, and POLKA DOTS. I love polka dots!
Because there wasn't a lot of room for journaling on this page I tucked an old postcard image I journaled on and tucked it in the pocket. I like to do this with my journaling that is more personal as well. Ya know, something I wouldn't want just any old person who picked up my album to read.

Ok keep scrapping away everyone! We've got to get all those Christmas photos scrapped!!! I love to see your challenge pages too! Send me a picture or a link!

More sneak peeks...

Here are some more new journaling cards! I love the bright colors and of course the bracket shapes! These come in a couple of color combos including a classic chocolate brown, cream, brick red, and colonial blue. They come in set of six and coordinate with several of the blossoms and photo corners from the shop

These are part of the "Fancy Shmancy" line. The # circles come in 1-12 and the romantic sentiment squares come in a set of 6. They would be perfect for wedding, Valentines day, or any time you want something a little fancy!

I'll be showing more goodies that coordinate with these soon, so stay tuned! Be sure to check out my shop because I have lots of new goodies going in!
