i heart photo masks!

Nothing makes digital scrapbooking easier than photo masks. They come in extra handy for times when I have too many photos of one event but can't seem to weed any out. ;) I know I have a problem.... Here are a few layouts I did using a photo mask I made to help me get the job done quickly. Here is the mask...
and here are the layouts...
Quick and easy! They work great for Project Life/Project 365 too. Photo masks allow you to drop in your photos and elements and with a few clicks crop it all down to size. Since I wont be able to explain it in a way you could understand, (I am TERRIBLE at explaing the workings of photoshop) I found you a tutorial on how to use em. Here is one you could check out, but the web it full of them! Have a great day and get some scrapbooking done! :)

Christmas Scrapbooking

Do you have any traditional Christmas photos you do each year? Well every year we take a picture in front of the tree at my parents house. Everyone is in their Christmas best and each year it gets more interesting trying to get everyone to look at the camera, sit still, and leave the ornaments alone. ;) We have pictures like this from starting from the year I was pregnant with my first. This year in addition to the "usual" layout I'm going to scrap a layout with 1 photo from each of the last 7 years. It make take me awhile though, cause I'm actually going to have to dig out negatives (remember those?) to get the first one or two printed...

Today though, I'll share the traditional photo op layout. Be sure you take time to scrap all those great "everyday" Christmas traditions.

Stop by my etsy shop for some fun Christmas embellishments for those scrapbook pages!

Happy Sunday!

Hey there! I hope you are all having a great weekend! I've been crafting my little fingers to the bone here. ;) I just love this time of year! The holidays always inspire me to create. How about you?

I thought I'd share a layout with you today. I used some of my Little Bit Country Journaling cards. (I haven't got these in my shop yet... they are coming soon though...)
I was trying to use up some of my older supplies on this layout, and I'm really happy that it all came together to look new!

I did a lot of distressing on these pages with sandpaper, ink, tearing, crumpling, and staples. I love to distress... no matter what you do you just can't mess it up! :)

and now.... a little reminder about my the Christmas update in my Etsy shop... it starts tomorrow! I'm going to start adding the new goodies to my shop mid morning and the update will probably go throughout the week. It will include ready to give gifts, crafting supplies, decorations, pretty packaging, and vintage goodies! I'll be having a giveaway here on my blog too, so be sure to come back tomorrow to enter! I'm also going to be having some Christmas fun on the blog with easy handmade gift ideas, tutorials, decor inspiration, recipes and more so be sure to come by and join in the fun! See you tomorrow!

Scrap Happy

Hey! I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. Well it's back into the swing of things again today. My daughter started Pre-school this morning. She was so excited, especially since big brother started kindergarten 2 weeks ago. I can't belive next year she'll be a kindergartener then it will be just me and Connor. We'll be so lonely! Speaking of me and the little man, here is a layout I made of him at Easter.

Check out my etsy shop for new goodies today! Go here to see them!

Wednesday Night Scrappin!

My pal Jami and I have been scrappin on Wednesday nights. It has been SOOOOOO nice to have one night a week (well most weeks anyway ;)) to get some layouts done, have some fun girl time with my friend, and get a break from everything... and we always have lots of yummy coffee and some kind of goodie so you know I'm in heaven right there!

This is a layout I did last time we got together. I'm really trying to finish up some page kits I had put together a while ago so I can stay focused on my "keep 2009 current" plan.
I used some vintage wooden bingo markers for the flower centers. I LOVE these things! They are one of my fav. embellishments. My stash is getting low though, so I'm going to have to track some more down!!
I also used some of the Bright and Funky Journaling Cards from my shop. They match Pink Paislee papers so well, I love to use them together. (they also go really well with the October Afternoon lines....)
Go here to check them out!

No scrapping with Jami tonight, but I'll be doing some projects here at home for the Creative Chaos design team. I'll share those later! Have a great day!

Oh and PS incase you were wondering, we survived the whole first day of kindergarten trauma. Parker LOVED it and had a great day!! :)

Happy Scrapper!

I have been such a happy scrapper lately! I've been doing more scrapbooking the last month or two and then I have done in quite a while. It's so nice just to sit down and work on my photos! I'm always doing so much crafting for the shop or for other people, it's been so nice to work on projects for my family!! ...and nice to use up some of those supplies I've been continuing to buy...

This is a layout I did for the Creative Chaos Team. Jenn is so amazing, I just love her jotters!!
I cut one of the jotters in half and layered it behind a photo on each page. You can do so much with journaling cards...they are AWESOME!
I also stitched on a fun ruffled border out of pink and white striped fabric. Just "crumple" it up as you stitch it to the paper to create a shabby ruffled strip.

Have a great day!

Busy, busy, busy!

Oh where does the time go these days! Summer seems to be flying by already! This has been a very busy week and today is no exception! The highlight of today will be watching my daughter at her ballet recital. She performed on Wednesday night and now she gets to perform again in the best of show this evening. It was so stinking cute! I'll have to share some pictures and a few funny stories too! But for now I just have time to share a layout I made for the Creative Chaos design team.

Doesn't Miss Jenn make the most fabulous journaling spots! Have a wonderful Friday everyone! Oh, and I know the shop has been lacking this week... the new stuff is coming next week for sure!!!:)

My Little Glamor Girl

Today I'm sharing a layout I made of my daughter. She is so girly! It cracks us up and we wonder where on earth she got it because I'm not that way. She's a natural little fashionista. I should have known we were in trouble when she was 2 1/2 and her favorite Christmas presents were clothes. She notices everything about clothes, jewelry, and she loves everything pink and fancy. What really cracks me up though is that she also has a rough and tumble side. (I'm very grateful for this because the 110% girly all the time could be a bit much... :)) The other day I looked out in the back yard to check on her and there she is in her fancy pink dress with fake pearls and "shiny shoes" covered head to toe in the pile of dirt she's playing in. I should've grabbed the camera! Anyway... off on a tangent there... here's the layout:

I used the "Life is Sweet Mini Journaling Cards" from my shop. Go here to check them out.
I also used pop dots to add dimension to the butterfly stickers. This is an easy fix to give your layout a little extra pizzazz.

Be sure to take advantage of the June Special in my Etsy Shop. Free shipping on all orders $25.00 or more, and for every $25.00 you spend you will receive a coupon for 15% off your next purchase! Have a great day!

Vintage Playtime Projects

I had so much fun putting this kit together. It is just loaded with fun and inspiring goodies. You know me, I love to find new purposes for "old" bits and pieces. Here are a few projects I made using the kit.
This little sign would be perfect to give to a teacher, especially since the end of the year is rapidly arriving. Wouldn't it make a cute hall pass etc? It would also be adorable in a child's room or playroom.
I cut out the picture of the little girl from one of the vintage book pages in the kit. Then I layered it with one of the ledger stickers and some buttons.
I used one of the Ticket Journaling Tags to make a little invite for my son. Whenever we go do something just the 2 of us he calls it a special date- so cute! I used one of the artisan labels, a vintage bingo marker, and bits of the papers on this quick and easy project. You could also make adorable scrapbook layouts, journals, cards... the possibilities are really endless.

There are only a limited number of these kits, once they are gone they're gone. So be sure and stop by the shop and check it out!

I LUV 6-up page protectors...

I don't think I've shared this new scrapbooking love with you yet... the 6-up page protector will become your new best friend.(if it isn't already) I have been using these a lot lately. I really love taking pictures. It's a hobby/obsession of mine. The problem is that I can't scrapbook them all. Now don't get me wrong, I weed out the bad/extra photos, but even then I really don't want 2-3 layouts of each photo session! :) SO... I use these page protectors. That way my favorite photos still make it into our albums, but I don't have to make layouts for all of them.

Here is an example of what I mean: I did 1 2 page layout and added a 6-up protector in between the pages. I kept these layouts simple so the whole thing was really quick.

Page 1:

Page 2:

...and here is the page protector: the front

the back:
Now you can get as simple or fancy as you want with these. You can fill all 12 spots with photos, use some spots for journaling, or scrapbook couple of the spaces. If you want it to be really quick just fill em with your photos and put it in between or following your layout. So simple, cute, and gives you the extra photo space with little effort. You could also use these to make an entire album and simplify the whole process. The possibilities are endless. They come in a variety of layouts and photo sizes too.

I'm adding more new goodies to the shop this week. Go here to check them out! Have a great day!

Lucky Me

I know Mother's Day has come and gone, but I wanted to share a few pictures with you.

This is the cutest apron in the world! My super talented Mama made this for me for Mother's Day and I just had to share it with you scrappers! She said she saw the fabric and said "That looks like scrapbook supplies!" and just had to buy it to make me something. Since I have this crazy obsession with aprons, she made me this darling little 1/2 apron. I know you can't see it very well, but it's very retro housewife with a cute ruffle and little pocket. I just love it! I keep telling my Mom she should open her own Etsy shop and sell aprons, blankets, etc. Did I ever show you the pink and brown polka dot apron she made me to were at craft fairs? Oh, it's so cute and matches my logo colors etc. Thanks so much Mom! I love it!

My son Parker picked this bouquet for me and said, "Mom!!! Here's your Mother's Day present!" with the biggest grin on his face. I just had to take a picture of it. I know one day there will be no more dandelion bouquets, no more special rocks or sticks given as gifts, and I wanted to capture a memory of this stage. I felt like the luckiest mommy in the world when he gave them to me, and I want him to know it!
I'm sure you'll be seeing a scrapbook page with this photo on it in the near future! Don't forget to photograph these little moments. They really are the things that make our lives so special. The little everyday things, routines, and moments that make up a life and tell so much about who we are. It's so easy to focus our scrapbooks on major events and holidays, but be sure to scrapbook these things too! Make it a goal to showcase at least one everyday part of your life each month!

Lots of new goodies have been going in my shop this week. Go here to check them all out. Don't for get to take advantage of the May Special too! Have a great day!
