Then I'm going have a Christmas sale in the shop (I'm not totally set on the dates yet, I'm thinking Thurs. 4th - Sun. 7th, but I'll let you know for sure) with fun giveaways, some gifts with purchase, and some holiday inspiration. It's going to be a fabulous way to get your Christmas shopping done early! So stay tuned to the blog for updates, and spread the word to all your scrappin crafty friends! :)

My sweet cousin-in-law Jessie Crowley, see blog list for August Light Photography, volunteered to come out and photograph everything for me! Yeah!! Thanks Jesse! I was wondering how I was going to fit it all in this week. If your in the Missoula area, you have to call her for you Christmas photos this year. She does an amazing job!

Oh, one more reminder, Thursday the 4th is the Holiday Open House! (see previous post for details) Can't wait to see you there!

The Craziness Continues...

Good Morning! Well I just wanted to let you all know I've decided to do another Holiday Show. A spot opened up in a very sought after event and I just had to take it. So, if your in the Missoula area you are not gonna want to miss this show!!! It starts tomorrow, Friday, at 5:00 - 9:00 in the Fine Arts Building at the Fair Grounds. On Friday there will be a fun complimentary "cocktail hour" with wine, cheese, some yummy dessert (well, as long as I stop crafting long enough to make dessert), and wonderful arts and crafts. It should be a really fun night to shop, eat, and mingle with friends. Then on Saturday the doors open at 9:00 and I think it runs until 5:00 that evening. Be sure to come on down. I'll have lots of new goodies in my little shop. Oh, and if you mention you saw this blurb on my blog, I'll give you 2 yards of yummy seam binding ribbon. Just perfect for all your holiday gift making and wrapping needs!

I'm gonna try to get some more photos posted today of the projects I've been working on too. So check back later! I'm off to finish my "magic wands!"

WAIT..... how could I forget! Go check out the post from Tuesday about "A Crafty Christmas Swap!" It's going to be so fun! There are only 10 spots and 4 are already taken, so sign up today. I'll be closing the sign ups on Sunday, so be sure to get in before then!

Let Me Introduce You

to my new little friend Joy!

I had so much fun making her. There she sat with her 2 pals looking so sad and gloomy. What's a girl to do, I thought to myself. I know lets give her some sparkle, that will cheer her right up! Before she knew it, sweet little Joy was covered with glitter and dressed in the cutest little party hat you ever did see, complete with pearls for that special holiday party...:) I just had to share her cause I knew you would understand my creative madness. Sometimes we just have to make things that make us smile! My poor hubby took one look at her and said "that's cute" with the most confused look on his face. He supports my addiction, but he definitely does not always understand it! :) I'll show you the rest of Joy's cheery crew when I get them finished.

Oh and don't forget to sign up for "A Crafty Christmas Swap!" See the previous post for details. But hurry, there are a limited # of spots! :)

Here's the Swap

Well as promised here is the swap info! First let me explain a bit in case your wondering what the heck a swap is... This is going to be a Christmas Craft themed swap, so each person participating will make 9 little Christmas projects and in return each will receive a total of 9 projects from the other participants. Make sense? Basically you make one goodie for each of the other 9 participants. They can all be the same or each one can be unique up to you. This swap will be open for 10 people, hence the 9 projects unless you want to make one for yourself too! :) As far as the projects go, you could make Christmas cards, tags, gift bags, ATC's, decorations, ornaments, or you could put together little packs of embellishments, ribbons, etc. It's really up to you, just be sure it's Christmas themed and that it is something you'd be happy to get in the mail. I'm starting sign ups today and I will close them on Sunday the 23rd. The goodies will be due Dec. 15th,(you mail them to me) that way I will have enough time to sort them and send them out to everyone before Christmas. Sound like fun?!! Just imagine getting lovely surprise packages full of handmade Christmas goodies! I can hardly wait! So if you want to join in, and I know you do, leave a post after this little blurb and include your email address so I can send you all the shipping info etc. Come on ladies, lets have some fun!

Happy Monday everyone! I'm still trying to get things organized from the aftermath of craft show season! I know I haven't listed any of my new goodies for a while, but they are coming!!! I can't wait to show you this really fun chipboard album I made using some of the yummy Pink Paislee line. (I have to finish mine though, cause I sold the other 2 already.) Since it's nice out here today, I'm going to be taking pictures all that scrappy goodness like a crazy person! I'm also getting ready to announce the swap information. I'm planning to start sign ups on the blog tomorrow, so be ready. It's gonna be super duper fun! :)

A Fun Swap...

I thought I'd share a few quick photos of some ATC (artist trading cards) I made for a "winter wonderland themed" swap I recently finished. This is my first time with atc's and they were so much fun! I'm planning to host a little swap of my own here on the blog, so stay tuned for details and be sure to join in for some Christmas fun!

I copied some fun vintage embroidery snowman patterns, cut them out and inked them, coated them with diamond glaze, and then sprinkled them with superfine white glitter. It's hard to tell from they photos, but they sure are sparkly!

I can't wait to see the cards I receive from the other ladies over at the Coconut ScrapShop! Yeah! I'll be sure to show them to you when they arrive!

Come Down and See Me

Hi! I'm heading to the holiday craft fair today! If your in the Missoula area please stop by and visit my booth! Tell me you saw this post on the blog and I'll give you 2 yards of some yummy vintage seam binding, perfect for all your Christmas projects and gift wrapping! The show is at the Broadway Inn and goes from 8-5 today. I hope to see you all there!

I thought it would be fitting to share a few photos from my last show today. Sorry they are great, terrible lighting for photography in there and it was so crowded with shoppers this was the best I could do. :) I forgot to take pictures until it was almost the end of the show. Today I'm gonna try to remember to do it before it opens! :)

I'm Back....

Yeah! I'm starting to feel better and just in time too! My next holiday show is this Saturday! I'm gonna be a busy be the next 2 days! If your in the Missoula area please be sure and stop by! It's at the Broadway Inn Sat. the 15th from 8-5. There are going to be lots of fun vendors there, so stop on by and see me. Tell me you saw this info on the blog and I'll give you 2 yards of vintage seam binding free! The yummiest ribbon for all your holiday projects and gift wrapping!

So with out further ado, here is the fun star Christmas ornament project!

You will need some chipboard stars, vintage sheet music or patterned paper, super fine glitter, and glue dots. I would recommend either Pink Paislee's "Pixie Sticks" or Martha Stewart glitters (you can find those at Walmart).

Cover your stars with the paper and ink the edges. I did both sides in case I hang them in front of a mirror etc. Then here is the most fabulous tip I learned from the talented Brandy Faulkner: use glue dots to make perfect glittery polka dots! I randomly put the glue dots on the paper, then sprinkled with red glitter, "pressed" it down and voila! Beautiful sparkly Christmas polka dots!

You can either leave the stars as they are, or embellish them with all kinds of goodies like I did. Here are some examples:

I used ribbon, tulle, vintage Christmas seals, flowers, buttons, and more.

I haven't put hangers on mine yet because I can't decide if I want to make a garland out of them or hang them individually from the ceiling in front of the mirror in my entryway. I think they would look so cute hanging with some snowflakes sparkled up with silver glass glitter.

They were so fun and quick to make! Now it's your turn to give them a try! I would love to see what you come up with, so send me a photo and I'll put it on the blog! Have fun with that AWESOME technique by Brandy Faulkner, I can see all kinds of glittery polka dots in my future!

One crazy day....

Hi everyone! I'm so sorry I didn't get my holiday craft or photos posted today! My kids and I all seem to have the same cold bug. We were all dragging today and not much got accomplished. I just got the kids to bed, so I thought I'd jump on to tell you I hadn't forgotten. :) So here's a little teaser, I'm gonna show you how to make some wonderfully easy star Christmas ornaments that would look great on your tree, strung into a banner, or hanging in front of a mirror. I have a GREAT new trick I just learned for making glittery polka dots. It's gonna be fun! Hopefully we will all be feeling better tomorrow. Well I'm off to take some cold medicine which always knocks me out even the non-drowsy, go figure. My friend Jami gave me some non-drowsy cold medicine at the craft show and woo, she was really laughing at me! :) Anyway, I hope to be back for some fun tomorrow!

Lets all give Miss Vivian a round of applause, not only did she send in a fab layout, but she was just added to the Design Team for Sweet Pea Scraps. Yeah!! Good luck and best wishes Vivian! Fair is Fair...

Hello everyone! I just had to share this layout I did of my daughter. She saw the blog post with the layout of "my boys" and said, "Mommy why you not have a scrapbook picture of me on the puter(aka computer)?" So, my dearest to make everything "fair" here is a picture of you. :) She's just too cute to resist.

For an easy handmade accent I cut out hearts from pink and white card stock, inked them, doodled around the edges, and dotted them with glitter. Cute and Quick, a great combo! :) Oh no! I see one of my buttons fell off! I have been very frustrated with a box of glue dots I recently bought. They don't stick! I guess I got a defective box or something, cause I keep having to go back to my layouts and re-glue. UGH!

Things are really getting hectic this week. I have so much last minute stuff to do for the craft fair on Saturday. Remember if you are in the Missoula area (in Montana for those of you wondering where Missoula is) come on by the University between 9am and 4pm for a fabulous holiday event! I'll have the Pink Owl Paperieshop all set up with loads of new goodies. (like mini albums, embellishments, wall hangings, banners, cards, altered boxes and much more) For all of you not in the area, I will be listing whats left after I'm done with my craft shows this month. In the mean time, I have some new embellishments made up for the shop and I'm hoping to get them listed by Friday. So be on the lookout! :) Have a wonderful day!

So no matter who your favorite candidate is or whether your just frustrated with it all, please go and vote. It really is such a privilege that we have. Ok, so get out there everyone! :) Have a wonderful day!

A layout to Share

Happy Monday! I thought I'd share another layout I made recently. More of that fun robot paper I'm luvin right now.

I used some colorful paperclips (fun and easy embellishments) and circles cut from felt and cardstock.

Lots going on this week for me, I'm getting ready for my 1st Holiday show of the season. It's on Saturday, so I'm up to my eyeballs in paper, trims, glitter, and packaging. :) My "craft room" has officially taken over 1/2 of my house. Our coffee table is now piled with all kinds of goodies. My sweet hubby sat on the couch trying to watch football yesterday through a sea of ribbons, tags, and glitter without one little complaint! :) hahaha Poor Guy!

I've got some new velvet creations for the shop too, so watch for "Tattered Velvet Blossoms" to be making their debut this week.
